Young House Love LOVE

This couple is amazing. They are so smart and talented. AND SO STINKING CREATIVE!
They decided to document their daughter Clara week-by-week.  Don't you just love the name Clara?
Clara's Weekly Photo Project

I hope to do this for the girls. I think I can.  I will.  It's all about the mindset!

Photography Challenge Day 17

Day 17: Technology

Vanilla Pudding Chocolate Chip cookies

I read several blogs.  Some I read consistently.  Some I just stumble across and read several days, weeks, months in one sitting and then I'm done.  I also love recipes.  I have tons of recipes and tons of bookmarked blogs of recipes that I want to try.  I'm really good and making piles of things I want to do but never getting around to doing it.  Last week I decided to give one of the recipes a try.

I found a recipe for Vanilla Pudding Chocolate Chip Cookies at Two Peas & Their Pod.  In all honesty I probably thought this blog was someone who has twins.  I love reading about people and their twin experiences.

Here are the lovely ingredients. I'm really big on mies en plas a French cooking term that means "everything in place" when I am cooking regardless how large or small the task.  It makes a big difference to me in getting everything done.
These were quick and fairly easy to whip up.  I only baked half of the dough.  The rest is in the freezer...saving it for a rainy day.
The cookies were pretty good.
They don't hold a candle to Pioneer Woman's Malted Milk Chocolate Chip Cookies though.

Photography Challenge Day 16

Day 16: Long exposure

I admit that I had to read up on how to create a long exposure photo.  I have this fancy schmancy camera that Steve gave me, but I am terrible about knowing how to work it outside of the "full auto" mode.
After several tutorials and one You Tube video of some rave kid taking photos of his glow sticks with techno playing in the background, I felt ready to conquer today's photo challenge.
I started with my Light Bright lamp.  I thought I could do something neat....it didn't really work out.

So then I thought about my iPhone...techno kid had a glow stick...I needed something that would glow.  Eh, it's ok.

Finally I got Steve's mini flashlight and had a grand time writing my name furiously when the shutter clicked open.  This brought back great memories of spending the 4th of July at my Nanny and Papa's house.  We would always use sparklers to write our names or draw pictures while humming "Stars and Stripes Forever."  Good times.

Day 9: Someone you love
This picture is from our honeymoon.  We are at a cafe, and there is a man sitting next to us putting a disturbing amount of honey onto some type of sandwich.  This picture of Steve's reaction always makes me laugh.

Day 8: A bad habit
I buy way too much cereal.  Oddly enough my favorites-Lucky Charms and Cocoa Pebbles aren't making an appearance in this selection.

Day 7: Fruit
This little guy made some delicious jelly!
